Celebrities Who Vape — Why It’s Important

Celebrities Who Vape — Why It’s Important

By Evelyn du Maurier

They’re everywhere — on set, seen outside the hottest nightclubs in Hollywood and in London, on holiday, and even on the red carpet. What am I talking about?

Celebrities that vape. From models to actors, and even musicians, the red carpet royalty is embracing the vaping community with vigor. Tom Hardy, Michelle Rodriguez, Kate Moss, Katy Perry, and even Oscar-winning Leonardo di Caprio all vape. Not only that, but they are unashamed of their hobby, with Hardy and di Caprio being two of the most-photographed actors with their vape pens. There are even pictures of Laura Prepon (of That 70s Show and Orange is the New Black fame) and Gary Oldman at various vape shops in New York City and LA.

But why does this matter? In the grand scheme of things, one would assume that celebrities vaping just comes with the expanding industry — the technology and range of flavors surely attracts all sorts of people, even those we see on tv and in films. So why is it important that celebrities vape?

It’s important for a few reasons, the biggest being this — exposure. These A-listers are proving to the general public that vaping is not only beneficial, but acceptable.

As we all know, society takes a while to warm up to a new idea or hobby. Vaping is still relatively new, but with the customizable options available, it has become a new way for celebrities to show off their unique styles. From e-cigarettes that resemble the traditional cigarettes to huge box mods that give off enormous clouds of vapor, the possibilities of building a custom vaping kit to fit anyone are endless.

And when celebrities vape, they are making it more accessible to people. It’s hard to be afraid of vaping or the fear-mongering that accompanies it when you see Samuel L. Jackson or Katy Perry doing it.  And it’s even gotten to the point that actors are talking about vaping in interviews. Even Katherine Heigl (Grey’s Anatomy) went on a late-night talk show years ago to explain vaping to an audience.

So while the disinformation campaign continues against vaping, Hollywood has spoken — vaping is a great way to break a smoking habit with style. And as long as the vaping community continues to provide excellent service to its most public members, the community will only grow stronger with each passing year.
