Storz & Bickel Volcano Vaporizer Review

Storz and Bickel Volcano Vaporizer

Storz and Bickel from Germany has become famous for making some of the highest quality vaporizers on the market. The Volcano vaporizers are no different, they are among the best desktop vapes on the market. Today we plan to review and compare both Volcano vaporizers but really, you just can’t go wrong with either one. First the differences, beginning with the legend that started it all.

Storz and Bickel Volcano Vaporizer

Storz and Bickel Volcano Classic Vaporizer

This looks like its name, a steel walled volcano. It’s made of high quality material and will last a lifetime. I’ve had mine for 5 years now and works the same as the day I unboxed it. It stays cool to the touch.

It has an analog temperature dial on the face of the Classic but even with that you have excellent temperature control. It vaporizes your dry herb material by hot air, keeping the odour down and the risk of singeing or harmful combustion by-products to a minimum.

This machine uses forced air to pump dense, cooled, flavourful clouds of smoke into a balloon for use in one session or storage for more sessions over the day.

We’ll cover the valve systems later but for here, the Volcano Classic could not be easier to use. Turn it on and wait for the light in the centre. Once it turns off, you’re ready to insert your valve and balloon. Hit the fan button and watch the balloon fill. The fan is powerful and will fill most balloons in no time.

It takes a while to heat up but we generally turn it on while we’re preparing our dried herbs and our valves, so we don’t mind the wait.

Storz and Bickel Volcano Digit Vaporizer

Now for the differences. Are you ready to take notes? The Volcano Digit is digital, with a digital temperature control. Still taking notes? Well stop, because that is essentially the difference. You have precision temperature control with this unit as well, except you know down to the degree what heat you’re operating at. The digital display is large and easy to operate, with controls on either side of the display to adjust the temperature right where you want it.

I’ve tried the Digit and it still produces that dense, flavourful cloud of vapour that made the Volcano famous in the first place.

Solid Valve Set Vaporizer

Both the Classic and the Digit come with an option to purchase the solid valve or the easy valve set. Each valve set is interchangeable between the two machines and comes complete with it’s own filling chamber.

The solid valve set is the more permanent of the two as the name implies. It’s what I initially bought with my Classic. It can be a bit more work to take apart and clean but it’s made of sturdy material that will last a long time. With the solid valve set you can also make a balloon almost any size you want. Fill the chamber, insert the valve when your Volcano is ready and you’re off to the races or at least to one of the best vape session you will ever have.

Easy Valve Vaporizer Set

Your other valve option is the Easy Valve balloon system. These valves don’t last as long and are meant to be disposable. They come with only one size balloon that is already attached to the valve and a slightly less solidly built filling chamber. The balloon is still big enough for your session or for sharing. No worries.

You can get more information, buy either machine, either valve set, or replacement and maintenance parts over at the Herbalize Store, where you get free shipping and great customer service.
